Extensively inscribed in pencil in the lower margin, pencil and watercolour on wove paper
340 x 238 mm. (13 3/8 x 9 3/8 in)
There is a minor tear in the lower margin, a very minor time staining throughout, adhesive marks on the verso, the paper is otherwise in a very good condition.

It is interesting to note that the young girl is wearing a mourning cap, which is unusual to see in drawings of this period.1
