Domenico Mondo, painter and draughtsman, was influenced by Francesco Solimena (1657-1747), Mattia Preti (1613-1699) and the freedom of Luca Giordano (1634-1705). In 1789 he was made Director of the Accademia del Disegno, together with Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein (1751-1829), till 1799. He was sole director till 1805, during which time he followed the Neo-classical style.
