Bridget has been a Botanical illustrator for over 17 years after taking a degree is Graphic Design at Cat Hill College of Art and having worked freelance for a number of companies. A request to paint a friend's wedding bouquet led to a specialism in Botanical Illustration. Bridget has had numerous successful solo exhibitions of her work in Cambridge, Essex, Durham, North Yorkshire and London. Commissions now form an increasing part of her work.

In 2002, an exhibition of fourteen plum paintings was submitted to the Royal Horticultural Society and awarded a Gold Medal. Two of these paintings were subsequently purchased by the R.H.S. for their Archive Library.

Bridget has since completed 51 paintings of apples for 'The Northern Pomona', published by Pomona Publications in the autumn of 2007. The book was dedicated by kind permission to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and is a treatise on growing apples in cooler climates, illustrated to aid apple identification and including sections on orchard management and 200 apple based recipes.

All Bridget's work is painted from live species on 100% cotton-rag paper using non-fugitive fine quality watercolours.

In addition to her own paintings, she runs courses for others to learn and develop their drawing and painting skills at the Helmsley Walled Gardens, North Yorkshire. She also gives lectures on the history of botanical illustration.
